What is a respectable upgrade path for a Galaxy Tab S2?

Is the Galaxy Tab A in the same ballpark or would that be a step down?

Tab A would be a step down. The Tab S4 is the current generation of the flagship-level devices and actually recently had an article on our front page comparing it to the Tab S5e - https://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-s4-vs-galaxy-tab-s5e

I figured the S4 was the current range of high-end Samsung Tabs but I wasn’t 100% onboard with the form factor, which had me looking elsewhere until there weren’t any other comparable devices.

Also the price jump between the S2 and current gen of S-range Tabs is rather significant.

I had Tab S2 8" and switched to Tab S5e. For the 8" size go with iPad Mini. The Tab A, especially at 8" size, is a real step down.
