direct text

I have had three generations of Galaxy phones (1, 3 and 4). Each one had a widget called "direct text" that would allow you to put a widget/button/whatever you wanna call it on your home screen that would open your message app addressed to the person in the widget. For instance, if I had one for my Mom, I would click on the widget and it would open a text message addressed to my Mom, ready for me to write the message. I just got the Note 5 and the only widget even remotely similar is "direct contact," which basically opens up that person's contact info, giving you the option to call or email him/her. Kind of a pain. I know at the top of the messaging app, you can put shortcut people, but it's not quite the same as the "direct text" widget; it was much better. I called T-Mobile's customer service and was told they'd had other requests for it, but so far nothing from Samsung. I tried searching the app store for something that would work as direct text did, but I haven't had any luck -- it's all just shortcuts of various text responses -- such as "I'm in a meeting" or whatever, or that you can write your own -- so I thought I'd come here to see whether anyone else knows of anything. Help?

Re: direct text

Interesting. I still have the direct call and direct contact, but not the direct text.

Maybe there might be a widget in Playstore, can try and check.

I've already checked. If you read my original post, you'll see what kinds of search results I got.

Re: direct text

That IS strange. I actually downloaded an app that works as the direct call widget does, but I couldn't find one that replicated the direct text. I wonder if you have different widgets because you're with AT&T and I'm with T-Mobile. Sometimes there are subtle difference between carriers. I wish I could find an app/widget that will do the direct text function. I used it all day long. :(
