What is going on with the SD card in 3.2.1??

Well, I can't believe I haven't seen any other posts about this since the 3.2.1 updates came out (and this is really making me nervous!!)... but is ANYONE else experiencing this?

Just for reference, I was on stock 3.2, rooted, w/ CWR 3.0.2.8 previously. And everything on my external SD card (/external1) was visible, read/writeable, and worked great. BUT, after going back to unrooted stock and upgrading to 3.2.1 HTK55D & HTK75D, then doing the Universal Xoom Root, and installing CWR 3.2.0.0, I have a huge problem! My external SD card does not appear visible in all apps, and seems locked! I am finding that some apps are not saving settings (to SD card), movies on the SD card are not playing, my Titanium Backups (on SD card) are not showing, some apps are not seeing info, and I can't modify ANY files on the SD card! It is showing as Read Only, and not allowing me to change any permissions on the card/files. (A good way to see if you have this problem, just go into your music program and try editing a song's tags -- it will not save the new info if it's on the SD card). However, I am able to create new folders under /external1, but can't change the permissions on them.
Here is what I've tried so far:
- flashed back to recovery I created immediately after 3.2.1 install -- no luck (of course, but worth a try).
- wiping cache via CWR -- no luck.
- fixed permissions via CWR -- no luck.
- swapping SD cards -- no luck.
- reformatting SD cards (Fat32) -- no luck.

Then I found this thread:
SD with 3.2

I was surprised to read that this happened before this update, as I had not experienced it at that time. But if you read the whole thing through, there seems to be some speculation about what is causing this. And if that is true, I would like to know if flashing over to a Tiamat kernel would eliminate this problem. That is what I am about to try next, but just want to get some input from you guys first. Has anyone else had this problem with 3.2.1 or have a solution???
Thanks!

Yeah anything STOCK, won't write to SD, but should read. Flash Tiamat or Arcterus and you should be gtg.

Your file manager app needs to be updated. Filemanager HD I though was updated to write on stock 3.2.1+.

CWM not working is concerning. I would reflash solarnz or rogue recovery again. You don't use ROM manager do you?

Well that's why I am confused, because I've been running stock and never had any problems writing to the external SD card before. I was on stock 3.2 (rooted & CWM) before updating. No, I've always used Root Explorer from the market, so not familiar with Filemanager. I don't use ROM manager either... haven't flashed any ROMs (only kernels) in the past. CWR works fine, it just did not resolve the issues using the fix permissions or cache wipe. I will flash Tiamat I guess and hope that solves the SD card problem. Is that based on 3.2?

Yeah the newest Tiamat is still based on 3.2.

You shouldn't have been able to write to SD on stock anything. Tiamat introduced and still has that market corned unless you flashed a Euro 3.1 version, which I highly doubt you did. Everyone was pissed when 3.2 came out and we found writing to SD wasn't available. Didn't make sense for Google to do that. Thankgod for Tiamat!

And all you need is the kernel. The kernel enables it. You said all you flashed were kernels? Were you on a custom kernel when you were writing to SD?

Hmm, interesting!!! I did have Tiamat on it previously, before going back to stock when 3.2 first came out... maybe some piece of it remained? who knows.. but if that was the case, the latest 3.2.1 updates certainly trashed whatever piece that was! lol
