What is going on?

Ok, no review or reviewer ever states a blue LED notification light nor does the manual! What is going on with this? Here is clear evidence that there is a blue:

YouTube - Samsung Captivate vs EPIC 4G vs Fascinate vs Vibrant [Galaxy S Hands On]

At 3:15 they start showing the Epic. Bluetooth is on and there is a steady blue notification light in the top right corner.

Samsung couldn't have possibly taken out the blue led, could they? Also, has anyone noticed that the notification light whole is slightly wider than one notification led? Do you think there are two: One blue and one red?

I dont think the notification light mystery will be solved till we have the phone in our hands, but my guess is blue is only on when bluetooth is active.

My prediction:

HandCent will make us forget we were even worried about this.

Can't figure out why anyone would care so much about the color of an LED.

Like I said long ago when I was an Android Nanite, I care a lot about random things for no reason. One thing is LED notifications and if they can blink different colors. :)

I took a look at a Blackberry today. It has the same semi-wide opening for notification lights except vertical. This should mean that there is a separate LED for blue.

I'm answering this on my blackberry now lol...and it changes to blue when my bluetooth is active so that's why I figured it was the same

Examples:

RED - When my battery is dying
GREEN - When I get an email or other notification where time-to-respond isn't a big issue
BLUE - Text message
PINK/MAGENTA - When this one chick I'm banging texts me
ORANGE/GOLD - When this other chick I'm banging texts me

I dunno, it's helpful to not have to unlock the screen to see what's going on... *shrugs*

Lol! This is a really funny post.:D:D:D:D

I've seen it turn all sorts of psychedelic colors, the infrared and ultraviolet were pretty amazing ... ok, maybe not.

However, the Epic manual (yes, I'm a geek, I read it before I got the device) implies there are different colors, but it doesn't say specifically.

p:13 - 14. Front Indicator Light (LED) displays a device notification, charging status, or alert.
p:21 - The front LED turns red to indicate the battery is currently charging.

There's at least red, but I read the first one as different colors, but I've been wrong once or twice before.

Well, let's hope you're right this time!

And what color does it flash when it is a text from your wife?

While I'd like to see multicolors so those of you who care about this are satisfied...I hope they include to turn this crap off. No lights means it can charge in the dark and I don't have to see anything from across the room. I know it's charging - the icon on screen says it is- AND I plugged the dang thing in.

In the settings, you can turn the notification light off.
