What is RILD? and one other ?

In battery usage I see an APP called Rild. I do not know what it is. And second why are the pictures on FaceBook not being downloaded most of the time?

I've got that rild app taking 2% as well. Re: facebook, I also get a lot of blank boxes or "can't retrieve pictures at this time, try again later" which I do, but still no go. If I go to my iPad, I see the pictures and I've never had that message.


I Googled rild and came up with this on the Samsung Galaxy forum as a top hit:
"RIL is the Radio Layer Interface and RILD is the Radio Layer Interface daemon."

I tried to read it but my head exploded.

Thank you: I am wondering if it isn't some app accessing it? I have always wondered why some apps need so many permissions?

The Facebook pictures issue seems to be a problem since the last update for that app. I don't think it has anything to do with the RAZR specifically.
