Hey guys,
Hope all of you are amazing today?
My problem is both puzzling and interesting. Few days ago, I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from a local shop.
The box label mentioned SM-N910F and it was running android 5.1. I can see this model number under settings as well.
But, when I do IMEI check at (redacted by Moderator) the label also had this number), It refers to SM-N910C.
As I wanted to upgrade the OS to Android 6.0, I downloaded the SM-N910F firmware from Sammobile.com and tried to update via Odin. But the upgrade failed.
When I pressed Home+Power+Volume down button together, I noticed that the model is SM-N910V. So I downloaded the firmware and tried installation again. I was able to upgrade to android 6.0 successfully. This is a verizon model. After update, IMEI number is changed to (redacted by Moderator)which refers to Galaxy S5 Sprint model.
To consolidate for easier understanding
SM-N910F - The box, label and OS 5.1 initially had it.
SM-N910C - When I check IMEI number through website
SM-N910V - When I press Home+Power+Volume down together.
As you know, N910F and N910V both are having Qualcomm processor and N910C is Samsung Exynos.
I tried to install other firmwares such as N910F (Germany carrier versions) and N910G, all of them are Qualcomm models, but installation failed.
So, I want to understand desperately what is the right model number of my phone. Where was the error?
Does that mean that, the local shop took a verizon model (N910V) and flashed with N910F? Is this the origin of all the problems?
I believe that you guys only can untie all the knots. Thanks all.
