hey frank. i hope you're aware of the situation in china. recently. apple took down vpn apps and i'm not sure if android might end up with same fate. there's a way around it though as you can always manually configure your vpn through router regardless of whatever you get, but it's going to be a bit technical. just make sure you have credentials.
about kodi, i did stumble upon some post over this forum a few hours ago that had alternatives for kodi, you can see if they're working in china, that'll make things easier for you. if not, you'll have to resort to a vpn. as for a vpn for kodi, you can go with anything that doesn't compromise too much on load time and offer a smooth streaming experience. most are either free, offer trial or at least a guarantee so you have plenty of opportunities to evaluate the thing. if the laws are rather strict against kodi over china, you'll have to get something with encryption too. i've listed some of the stuff i know, but you can always google things up to know more.
