So, I am going to finally leave sprint as they won't allow me to stay on the SERO plan and do a phone upgrade.

I really didn't use the phone much at all, never using calling or texting and only using data about 500mb-1gb a month AT MOST, some months nothing. The note 4 I have been using spends about 95% of it's time on some form of WIFI so a cellular contract really isn't that necessary. But I'd still like to have something, so

what is the best option?

Can one buy a t-mobile device, unlocked and put it on the walmart 30$ a month plan?

Will ANY of the Galaxy note 7 devices from various carriers - at full retail of course - can any of them be made to attach to a ring or republic or MVNO carrier?

I have AT&T but not really a regular account - no shared data, etc.. but I could do that. Assuming it's a shared plan it seems one should be able to attach a new device for about 25$ a month?

Is there some other option? I'd really like to upgrade to this device, but don't need 600-720$ a year in wireless carrier fees.

thoughts?

Sounds like you want to buy it outright and get cheap service. If that's the case, do that and then get on the tmobile $30 prepaid plan with 100 min and unlimited data (5gb high speed) and text.

Will any of the phones work on ring plus

And can one buy a T-Mobile unlocked phone and get it in the 30$ plan?

Just to clarify, are you asking if you can get an unlocked phone but still sign up for the $30 per month payment plan? If so I don't think they will unlock the phone until it is paid off or you can maybe get the phone unlocked via a third party. I'm not sure about the last part.
