Difference between uk & eu samsung s5

Now the S6 is here I am ready to buy my S5 at a more reasonable price, off contract.

This is a minefield, simply because I am hearing/reading different opinions on whether to get an EU or UK model. A lot of sellers are certain that there is no difference whatsoever except for the 2 pin plug (And they will provide a UK 3 pin instead). If this is the case, I would happily have an EU version if it makes no difference to the usage. However, I have just seen a seller on Ebay state that because it is an EU version, there is some messing about to call abroad ie when you leave the UK, you have to make a constant 5 min call back to the UK with no break in order for it to ever work abroad. Eh?! It's important that I am able to use the phone when abroad, but that sounds like nonsense to me. Is it true?

If someone could please just clarify what the differences are, if any, so I can crack on with buying the most suitable.

Thanks a lot for your time in advance

Hello. Welcome to Android Central.

You want an SM - G900F with 4G LTE.

They are region locked by Samsung when new, eg Europe, Asia, America, to cut down eastern imports with different specifications.

You would need to use at least 5 mins in the region it was made for before it will work abroad, so 5 minutes in the UK for a European model is OK.

I looked at one on eBay (London here) and it has a link to an Android Central guide for this in the description.
