What is the easiest way to move my data from my LG G3 to my new LG G5?

A

AC Question

So excited, I got my new LG G5! How can I move over all of my data (including text messages) onto my new LG G5 the easiest way possible?

If you have Verizon , you can use the Verizon messaging app and thru Wi-Fi , your texts will automatically transfer over to your new phone. If you have pics, save them on your sd card. Most pics automatically save on the Google cloud, so you should have no problem accessing them on your new phone. All your apps should transfer automically thru Google play store.

LG Backup in the Smartworld Store will also do this for you from one LG Phone to another.

I just used the Verizon cloud app, the direct wifi connection, I don't actually use the cloud part.

Tried LG backup from a G4 and they wouldn't connect.
I then went to T-Mobile and they couldn't get it to work and advised I goto lg support directly. They were totally useless. They couldn't understand simple English. Then when I could get through to them they were unable to help. It should be the most straight forward from an LG G4 to an LG G5.

Turn NFC on both phones and touch them back to back. One will ask you to connect to the other and what you want to transfer.
