What is the fastest way to charge a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone while you are driving?

e.g. What happens if you charge it with a "Fast Charge 3.0" charger?

When using a charger that can can output more than the phone will accept, the PHONE is the determining factor in the charge speed. Using a charger with a higher output than the phone is rated for will not result in a faster charge.

True. But I bought a little USB current meter and what is totally bemusing is how much difference not only using different chargers makes (0.1 to 1.49Amps) but even changing MicroUSB lead can halve or double the current.
I have now bought a "Beikell USB Charger USB Wall Charger Plug - Rapid 4 Port 5A/25W USB Charger Power Adapter with Smart Device-Adaptive Fast Charging Technology".

PS The Beikell tends to charger at about 1.00 amps, although sometimes if you unplug it it comes back to life charging much faster (e.g. 1.24Amps)

With a car charger capable of 2 Amps or more for a single socket.

It doesn't have Quick Charge ability, so it's still charging at 5Volts, which will be about 1.2 Amps. Use the shortest good quality cable that will work. A longer cable, unless the wire used is thicker (and they usually don't do that) will drop more voltage, which will slow the charging.
