Question what is the force stop list and how do i manage it in android 14?

Within the last few days I am receiving multiple notifications per day that say "Force stop list" and a list of apps followed by "these apps stopped because of close app after screen lock." A long press on the notification takes me to the notification details which say "Close app after screen lock." I am used to a quick click on the power button to shut off the screen and not waste the battery. Is this wrong? How else is there? How do I tell it I don't want these apps to close when I do a quick press of the power button?

Which phone do you have? That sounds like it may be specific to the manufacturer -- certain manufacturers (especially Chinese ones) get really aggressive about RAM management and task killing as a misguided way of prolonging battery life.

A screenshot would be helpful as well.

Moto G14 running Android 14. This isn't about RAM. This is about Battery. I've turned off all battery saver stuff, probably shouldn't have turned any on in the first place. We'll see if it happens again.

That's still ultimately about RAM, because something in the system is closing apps out of RAM as a way to save battery.

What do you see if you tap that notification to view the configuration details?
