What is the hole above the volume buttons?

On the replenish there is a hole above the volume buttons that isn't referenced in the documentation as far as I can tell...

In looking at it with the cover off, I think that it is for a lanyard.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Yeah, I'm fairly sure it's for a strap or lanyard or whatever. It's not anything electronic as far as I can tell.

It's a dumb place for a lanyard though, the back cover covers the second hole. But I'd have to agree. It does look like the place for one.

Pop the back off the phone and look at the inside of that hole. There's a place there for the loop of the lanyard to hook over, and the back cover of the phone has a protrusion to help lock it into place. Basically, there's no need to do the whole "pass lanyard through itself to hold it in place" thing.
