What is the NEW black dot in upper left hand corner?

[Android Central Question]

Had the phone 6 months or so. This circle in upper left hand corner turned dark today. I had trouble getting a bar ban to white so I could see it. Cannot seem to lighten the dark dot

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be sure -- it's not a camera punchhole, right?

An under-display camera. A very clever design feature, but ridiculous because it has to look through the pixels, which obviously cannot work properly. Yours have failed completely.
