What is the problem of my samsung s3 version 4.3?

So here's my problem I have a samsung s3 version 4.3 so my problem is I cannot connect wifi far or any wifi in a public place that have a wifi and in my house I always in front of my router so I can connect it.
So what is the problem of my samsung ? How can I solve it. It' so disappointed
And there's more And if I charge it the percentage of my phone is decreasing not increase. How do I fix this problem

Welcome to Android Central! When you turn on wi-fi and look at the Settings>Wi-fi menu, do you see the list of all available networks and their signal strength, or does the list stay blank?

The fact that your battery level drops while charging suggests that (a) whatever you're doing while charging is using more battery than the charging rate, and/or (b) your battery is old and failing. Try a new or different battery.

Yes and their signal strength is strong but why I can't connect it say saved and secured but I can't connect.

Are these open public wi-fi networks that are known to be connected to the web?

I don't think so if the public wifi connected to the web. Well even in my house if I'm not near in my router I can't connect it say "saved and secured " but it's not connecting .

Do you have a case on? Some poorly designed cases can actually interfere with reception.

See if the problem persists in Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-32821. If it does, then it is more likely to be a hardware problem. That phone is pretty old, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was failing.

In that case, it's probably a hardware issue. You could try a factory reset, but I doubt that'll do anything. It's probably time to get a new phone. Sorry!

What is the difference if I update my older version to a new version anyways ?

Newer version of Android? That phone won't go beyond 4.3 officially.

You'd have to find a custom ROM designed for that phone based on a higher Android version. Installing a custom ROM requires rooting the phone. And it probably wouldn't solve your problem, since it sounds like a hardware issue.

At a (experienced) guess, the antenna connector came loose, so the only "antenna" left is a little piece of copper - or the antenna itself went bad from shock (dropping the phone or knocking it against something). The "even in my house if I'm not near in my router" part is almost a label that says "bad antenna or bad wifi transceiver". If it's the transceiver, it probably doesn't pay to fix, because you'd have to have the motherboard replaced, and you can buy a gently used S7 for less than that would cost. (Most of the cost is the labor - you can get the motherboard itself for US$20.)
