Just trying to find an answer to what the sensor size of the Camera Sensor is. Looking to purchase a 5X, and this is something I have been unable to locate on searches.

I am pretty sure it's the imx 214, same as in the Nexus 6

Wow. Replied yesterday but the reply is gone. Not sure what happened. I may have gotten distracted by the kids again and forgot to hit post. ;)

I was able to do some research using the info offered above. dpham00, you nailed it. It's the Exmor RS IMX214 sensor. The actual size of the sensor is 1/3". While it has a fairly large sensor size, the pixels are stacked, which limits the light just a bit, so not great in low light, but it's better than what the iPhone 6+ has by a long shot.

Not sure what the lenses for the camera is made of, but there is glass on the back to protect the lenses.

Still haven't made the decision to buy this phone yet, but getting closer. IF I buy a new phone very soon, it will be this one if the rest of my research continues to pan out. Still a few more things to consider first.

Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction.

Camera wise it's pretty good for image quality. Not sure what's your budget, but an honor 6x is $200 at Target now. For camera quality, i would recommend the honor 6x, if it is in your budget.

Another option is the moto g5 plus which is $185 for the Amazon ads version.

Appreciate the option, but I can get the Honor 5X $65 cheaper than I can get the 6X, and that's pushing the budget more than I want to right now. I'd also have to spend about $50 on gas to reach the nearest Target, which I wouldn't shop at if I could.

Also, the 6X is missing LTE Band 17, which is the primary band for my carrier in my area.

Target has free shipping on the honor 6x.

The 6x has band 12. Band 17 is a subset of band 12, and att broadcasts both band 12 and band 17.

As I said, I don't shop Target, and I'm already stretching my budget getting the 5X for $135. It's just a really, really good deal on the 5X, though.

No worries, i just wanted to let you know about the free shipping so you won't have to pay the $50 on gas. I realize that everyone has a budget, and if it's not in yours then i completely understand. The camera in the 5x is great for the price, but the performance of the phone itself is a little iffy, and updates are pretty sparse, which was why i was recommending the phones which were a bit more, if your budget allows for it.

I understand updates are sparse. As a matter of fact, from what I understand, there will be no more updates. I do plan on doing a custom ROM down the road, though. Yes, I understand what I'm getting into with that one.

Glad that you did your research! Please be sure to come back after you get your honor 5x and let us know what you think if of it!

Order placed. Should have the device by July 11. After I work with it for a while, I'll pop back and let everyone know what I think. For me, it's going to be hard leaving Windows 10 Mobile. I've never used anything but either a flip phone or a Windows smartphone, since Windows Mobile 5 over the last 10 years. Never owned an iPhone or Android, so a slight learning curve is expected. I have flashed phones for Android friends and for Windows devices over the years, most recently 6 months ago, but I don't plan on flashing this one right away, if at all.

Wow, now I would be really interested in your input as no one i know uses windows mobile.

But with your experience flashing, i am sure that you will be able to catch into Android fairly quickly.
