My Android expertise tells me that this is, in fact, a notification icon!

Yes, it's my phone. Samsung S21. I ask, as nothing there when pull notification bar down that would correspond to that. I hadn't seen it previously. Top left of screen is located.

Put the device in safe mode to see if you still see it ? Need to test it in this mode for a few hours

Just to be sure, when you swipe down the notification panel, you're scrolling through all the notifications, right? If you have a ton of notifications, this one might be buried far down the list.

Nothing. I don't leave lot's of notifications unread. Any idea what it maybe ? Is it an app or something?

Reason I say go in safe mode it turns off all 3ed party apps and can only access native ones so if it disappears you know it's something you downloaded

The "Members" app notification is just the "M", not inside a tilted polygon.

Try also looking in the Notification History -- maybe that will show something that doesn't show up in the panel itself.
