So I got CM10 and ever since then I have just noticed some lag overall like scrolling through the forums or just anything..... Is the rom normally at a low cpu speed or is something up...
Anything?

Could be a number of things...

1. Your running a build that is still in developmental stages. CM10 althought very nice still has a lot of little tweaking still to be done.

2. JB is not officially released on the SGSIII line (US variants anyways) so your working with something that isn't yet completely designed for the device.

3. Play with some different kernels and governor settings if available. What works for some other persons style of usage doesn't always carry over to your device.

4. Worst case, wipe and reflash the ROM again...

So you flashed a BETA and are experiencing odd issues?

Have you ever drank hot coffee very quickly and mysteriously burned your tongue?

I'm kidding. Restore your device to ICS and wait for the proper port.

Which CM10 are you running. There are many versions of CM10. Official, JellyBro, Invisiblek's...

All of these are true. This is a nightly rom which basically means beta and you will find bugs.

Change your kernel settings to use Interactive Gov and Noop Scheduler. That was my set up for the kernel and never had lag. If that doesn't work, flash Jellybro CM10. Never had any lag on their build at all.

Development settings, disable hw overlays.

All aosp jb roms are/have been encountering this issue.

Oddly enough I'm on paranoid android, newest build and haven't had a flicker yet, without hw checked off.

That is a common issue but in the newer builds of Jellybean ROMs it hasn't been as much of a problem as it was before. On the newer CM10 builds, I noticed it much less than before.

PA seems like an extremely solid build, might have to give this a go. Been avoiding it, not much of a PA fan.

I've been thinking of that mod too bit but my saving apps never seems to work and it is a big pain re downloading everything

I'm still on the 9/2 nightly of cm10 and I've never had a screen flicker issue. I think its been the most stable nightly so far
