What is this little gray floating button on the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus how do I get rid of it

It is tied to some of the settings at the top of my phone it's in my way

That's probably the 'Assistant Menu'. You can turn it on/off in the Accessibility section of your phone's settings (dexterity and interaction area)
