What is this weird icon in status/notification bar?

Weird icon in status/notification bar

This morning I noticed a weird notification in my status bar that I've never seen before and I have no idea what it is for. It is a white/light gray rectangle with 4 dark gray horizontal lines with a dark gray bar across the top. Next to it it just says "[1]Fu" (the u has an accent mark over it) and then over on the far right it says the time and a number 1 below that.

When I swipe down to see all the notifications and try to clear it, it doesn't go away. I turned my phone off and back on, it's still there. I'm afraid to click on it b/c I don't know what it is.

I have a Droid Ultra running Android version 4.4.4

I have a screen shot but I don't know how to get it to paste here?!

When you pull down the notification bar, did you only try to clear it, or did you try and tap the icon, and open it?


Sorry I didn't see where you said you didn't. I would open it, but that's just me.

I only tried to clear it. I did not click on it...I was not sure what it was or if it would do something bad to the phone!

I just looked in my help section, in the icon glossary. I have the note3, and I didn't see the one you displayed. Look for it in your help section, and see if you can find it

If, when you pull down the notification screen, that icon appears, long-press it, and you'll get a menu. Tap app details and it'll show you which app is giving you that notification. (Then just back out - you don't want to stop the app or clear its data unless you know what it is and what you're doing.)

It's probably not something bad, it's just a notification from an app that none of us have seen before. (Do you have any strange hobbies you may have downloaded an app for? Or even not strange ones, but ones that not many people share?)
