What is Unsupportive format

I'm trying to send a GIFS in text message and it keeps saying unsupportive format help

Are you sure the message is a Multimedia one or that the GIF isn't too large for what your carrier limits MMS to? Regular texts do not support images.

Did it previously work?
Does the app allow GIFs or is it restricted to JPGs?
