What is wrong/happening? How do i get my photos back?

I recently got the galaxy s6 edge plus and i transfered all my photos from my old phone to this phone. I went to gallery to organize the phontos and put them in different albums. It was working fine untill i made another album and all the photos didnt show but instead a gray background with a photo icon and a 'i' in a circle showed for all the photos. I tapped the album but then the whole album disappeared. I couldnt find any of the pictures. I then restarted my phone but they still weren't. So i transffered the same photos from my computer to the phone and the same thing happened.

Welcome to AC! How did you do the transfer from one phone to another?
The gray icon you are describing sounds like what you'd see when the photos/videos are corrupted. You should always have a backup of your photos because of situations like this. Google Photos gives you free unlimited storage for storing photos

Is is possible but highly unlikely that there could be a problem with the storage on your phone. While I don't think that the photos can be retrieved unfortunately, I would watch closely for other weird behavior cause you are under warranty for a year and if it is bad phoenix the carrier will replace it.
