What is wrong with the WI-FI on my Samsung Galaxy S7?

[Android Central Question]

For the last month or so (I think since a software update) my S7 has been having problems staying connected to my home wifi, it seems like the problem is only with this particular router which is strange.

It connects fine and then will work for a random amount of time, could be 30 seconds or 15 minutes, before saying Internet Connection may not be available and then refusing to load any webpages / receive WhatsApp messages. Turning the WI-FI off and on my phone fixes the problem for a short period of time but nothing i've tried so far has stopped the problem recurring.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated as it has proven to be very annoying.
