what is your weather auto update frequency?

i have news and stocks all cleared out. no updates. i will get up to the second news and stocks info from web browser as needed.

BUT - i like always seeing the HTC weather/clock widget up front and i'm toying with the idea of changing my weather update frequency from 3 hours (default) down to 1 hour. any thoughts on if this will have any appreciable effect on my battery life? i only have 2 cities entered and will peel that back to 1 if necessary if it's a wash. it seems like it doesn't have to push through a lot of data.

weather can change by the hour.

How did you clear out stocks? It wouldn't let me put that one to manual. Just let me set to every 4 hours. Which was the highest I could do.

Honestly I can't see how the momentary connection some of these apps makes to the network affect battery life all that much. I did a manual weather refresh and it took approximately 2 seconds worth of network connectivity to download the latest weather.

i removed all of the stock symbols so it has nothing to push. same goes with news - i removed all of the stories so it has nothing to push. removed sync option in settings for both. i still set stocks to max of 4 hours and i changed news to manual.

also - removed all Sprint Zone checkmarks and changed frequency to "Only at Startup".

Menu -> Settings -> Accounts & Sync, under "Manage Accounts" you can turn on or off sync

as far as weather I have mine at one hour but I'd like to be able to do 30 mins

I have my weather set to 1 hour update. It doesnt seem to effect my battery at all, at least not enough to notice.

Yea same. Mine is set to 1 hour and my battery is pretty good. I have 2 locations set up on mine as well.

Did you guys see the clone app of the stock HTC widget? There's a story about it here:

I just installed it and it sure looks EXACTLY the same, but let's you do a refresh every 30 minutes if you like.
