So BAMF 1.5 came with a custom kernel. So if you like, you don't have to change anything, if you are up and running, and everything is to your liking, you are fine.

BAMF, however, does not include the updated radio. You can flash it if you like, in order to do that, you'll need to download the file for the update (check the threads around for the file), rename it to PG05IMG.zip, put it on the root of your SD card, boot into the bootloader (turn off your phone, hold the volume down and turn it back on), choose the default option, and then after 1-2 seconds it should start installing the udpate.

There are instructions around on how to do this, poke around and do some reading.
Hope that helps!

Install SetCPU if you want to overclock. The kernel itself is already optimized and it's not required, but if you want to experiment with different kernels I'd suggest you get it. Kernel Manager would be another app I'd recommend.

K so please link me to latest greatest radio link/download. Also what's best kernel out?

It was in the original post of the remix thread: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

I can't really say what the best kernels are because it differs from phone to phone. The kernels that have been included in BAMF roms have been great for me. Try out the 4.4.2 kernel that you have now for a week or two, and if you want to switch to something else later go ahead. I've heard good things about Imoseyon's lean kernel as well. Here's a guide to all the current roms and kernels available right now.

What is the most current radio??? Link? Thanks!

The 4.2.2 kernal is a beast.

Set CPU to 1300+/450 and am getting awesome results.

2200+ Quad score
35% battery left after 10.5 hours (4g on all day, stock battery)

Make a "screen-off only profile" on set cpu and make it 245/245, it helps save a lot of battery.

I'm using the Imoseyon extreme lean kernal 1.4 and I'm really liking it...
I use Kernal Manager Lite (Free).
I'm an automated kind of guy...I like easy and fast.

Developers will tell you do install one manually so you know how it's done...

Good Job!

Thanks for being a part of this thread. It appears that the stock radio was giving you an additional bar of service. Thanks for pointing out the differences.:)

Kernel question. Is it necessary to clear the cache(s) when flashing a kernel or a mod? Or only for ROMs?

Are there specific kernals im allowed to use or can i use any? And is there a reason that when i use kernal manager and try to download a kernal, it says error can't download?

You should clear cache partition and dalvik cache before flashing a kernel. Mod's i'm not so sure but it can't hurt to clear cache and dalvik so i'd just do it anyway.

if you are using a sense rom, use a sense kernel, if it's an aosp rom, an aosp kernel. What rom are you using right now?

Kernel manager is new so there may be bugs. DL the kernel, put it on your sd card, wipe cache and dalvik, and flash in recovery.

What about "wipe data/factory reset"? Does that need to be cleared also?

if you are coming from, for example, das bamf 1.4 to das bamf 1.5, you don't need a data wipe. however, if you are going from stock to a custom rom, you need a data wipe. so basically, if you're changing roms you need a data wipe, but if it's an upgrade or a newer version of a rom, you dont need the full wipe, just cache and dalvik for those.

Has anyone tried out the new Das Bamf toolbox on Remix 1.6? It has a built in cpu settings for frequency and govenor..... and I'm pretty unsure on which setting to stick with to get better battery life without sacrificing much of the speediness of my phone. I know each phone is different, but does anyone have a ballpark number I can try?
