What kind of charger is this on my LG Nexus 5X

I just started using my LG Nexus 5X that I received for Christmas. I charged it up with the charger it came with. When I got in my car to plug it in, I noticed the cord I use to charge all my other devices doesn't fit (I think that's a micro USB ... my old phone was a Moto X). Does this phone use a unique charging cable that I now must stock up on? Or did I receive a European phone?

Nexus 5X uses the new USB-C standard. It's a reversible plug. Yes you will need new cables, and you'll want to get decent quality ones as some of the cheaper cables out there have failed many tests.

I purchased 2 USB C to regular USB cables from google when I purchased my 5X, one for my vehicle and one for a computer.

The USB Type C cables from Google are very good, and their 15 and 30 watt chargers are excellent as well. I highly recommend them.

MonoPrice also has excellent Type C cables, and they appear to be manufactured in the same factory as the Google cables because they are identical.
