I like my S3 Mini, just the right balance of features, size, battery life for my fairly low-grade needs.

What is the current equivalent, or new, likely successor to the Mini series?
Alternate choices?

I see the S4 Mini selling here and there (U.S. web sales). Old stock/grey market, or current production?

Bump to say: I ran into a Samsung rep at BB store today.

No Samsung "Minis" in future(?)

Only option is S6, which is way more phone that I need...
Sad penguin, here.

I feel your same sadness. Well, not exactly the same, as mine is an S4mini (bigger screen, tho less massive & thinner) and has good opportunity for upgrades to Lollipop and Marshmallow ROMs. Still, you'd think SOME phone maker would offer a well-equipt small lightweight device.

Not offering a mini version is a mistake by Samsung as we all don't want to carry huge phones and pay big bucks. Apple recently released the iPhone SE for just these reasons.
