What may cause an intermittent screen in android phone? Lg Optimus 4x HD

Im having a problem with my smartphone, when I press the power button to awake the cellphone and put my pattern password, the screen stays completely black and starts to flicker on and off. This goes for some time and eventually it goes back to normal. After some minutes using it it starts doing it again, the screen goes on and off. The touchscreen is Not damaged because when the phone is intermittent I can put my pattern password and the phone unlocks, and use the phone "blindly", so it has nothing to do with that.

Can it be the LCD that has been damaged? Can it be the "board"?

it sounds like a hardware problem - perhaps not a bad LCD but the connection to the LCD. impossible to know without a complete evaluation by an engineer. i would try to get a replacement under warranty if possible. it may be time for a new phone.

I already left it at a store and they evaluated the problem. They say it might be the LCD, but what you say makes more sense because the screen functions properly when it is not flikering on and off

Can you direct me to any kind of post or website where someone is dealing or has dealt with this same problem?
