Ok, so maybe I'm making that whining noise again... but where are the Carrier Sub-Forums? ...where I can continue to read and enjoy the love and mostly hate we all have for our chosen provider of over priced data limited bundles of joy like the Note 3?

FYI, my Note 3 is on the FedEx truck from Verizon to show up on Monday... so someone.... anyone Carrier Sub Forum for the Note 3 by Monday? Please? -Hey I did say Please!

And, just to put a word in for the other side.... I hope we don't break up into sub divisions. It's easier then for some to only read the subdivision and not the general, or vice versa. Either way it greatly dilutes the communication and just dwindles traffic. It's easy enough to just skip threads that particularly pertain to a specific carrier issue, but then again, reading someone's issue and the answers can often help someone on another carrier. Just had to toss out my own humble opinion..... In any event, it will be up to the almighty moderators, whatever makes it easier for them will probably be the deciding factor as it should be.

This. Unless there is a huge software or hardware change in different carrier versions, I don't see a need for it.

Ummm, curious... I would think Carrier based threads would be less about "software" "hardware" and more about the carrier support of the device and OTA troubles with the carrier, but I'm sure there's lots of ways of looking at it... As far as the dilute of conversions, I can see your point there, seems to me like that's more about a wish the forum software would just put a "category" option on posts and then for the threads listing let the user decide to break out "categories" into sub-divisions or just a long general bucket of threads... Or maybe this forum software does that already? or more than likely no one really cares to invest the effort to add more organizational ability? I can understand that too :)

Moderators always have different ideas about how and where threads need to get grouped..... some do a good job and others are way too consumed with their tiny bit of power of trying to manage organization/conversation. Good content will always organize itself, especially if posters are asking specific questions and getting good replies. Create a general structure for folks and let the threads fall into place (there's more than enough self-correcting control types out there to make sure not too many people are say asking IOS questions to an Android forum :))

Anyway, just some thoughts.....

But we forget such things as rules and being off topic. After a while with conversing, it becomes second nature to ask a software question or android question among the group in the room, so to speak, rather than go back to Android Central's Forum Home page and see if the question should be in the operating system, etc. forum. I know I've checked out news articles on other forum hosting sites and looked in on their forums but most have much less traffic. Android Central is a great place to talk to others about issues and questions and no one should mind if you start a thread about your carrier issues. As for the moderators on here, my experience is limited to Galaxy Note forums mostly, but I've never seen anyone be overhanded but they are certainly there if we need them to be. They've given us a nice comfortable house to play in as long as we behave and mind our manners. I hope you feel comfortable posting here.

I figure the OP means software specific things such as T-Mobile's WiFi calling... No other carrier has that so posting in the "general" section doesn't help unless the people reading have T-Mobile.

I wish it were separated by carrier like the Note 2. That way users can go to their respective areas for information and to post, much easier to see and read and keeps it clear what carrier version a person is posting about. As it stands now there are so many threads that many get buried before anyone has a chance to see them, nonetheless post in them and often times while reading a thread you find out it's for a different carrier and has no relevance to your own.

I agree... I've never had any problems here.... and there's always something interesting to read no matter where it lands.

That's kind of my whole point in wishing that our GN3 section gets some carrier specific areas.... and yes if someone happens to post a carrier related post outside such sub areas, they generally learn that it's best to post in the sub forum because that's where those people generally go for the device tied to that carrier. Lets face it... the carriers put their marks all over these devices and my Verizon GN3 is not always going work like the ATT one. But of course, the flip side is sometimes true as well... questions/problems are not always based on what the carrier of the device is...

OMG don't you just love having the same device that works X times different the number of carriers that sell it .

I can mention this request to our Community Manager for consideration.

Until then I recommend making sure to add a carrier specific "tag" to the beginning of your thread title. Example below..

AT&T Galaxy Note 3 - This device rocks!

T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3, etc....

Thanks all,

Even tho is a bit post-late (since we have the sub forums now)... I think that's always a great idea for tagging the title with a bit of context...especially when such posts land in the general sections... Btw, thanks for mentioning this to Community Manager :)

I took this request straight to our Community Manager right after I posted my response. After considering how well the sub forums worked out for the Note 2 forums and other hi profile devices it was an easy decision to open them up for the Note 3.

Enjoy!
