I didn't see an existing thread like this but am curious what phone everyone had before you bought your U11, and what your thoughts are, I'm about to buy one but haven't owned an HTC phone since the M7 and I wasn't really crazy about it. I'm sure HTC has improved since then, and maybe learned a little from building the Pixel phones for Google.

M9 to the 10 to the U11. I have many friends that have Samsung, iPhones, LG and Moto phone and have had many opportunities to check them out. Each one has its positives and negatives. For my use HTC has the least amount of negatives and the U11 is the best I have ever used. The U11 has a very clean software without the bloat and multiple apps for the same thing and it's just a workhorse.

M9. Still in the every 2 yr cycle. I've always preferred HTC's low-key Sense UI, attention to audio, and overall quality/workmanship. The U11 is the latest and greatest iteration of these, plus a terrific camera!

The 10. Every HTC I've had up till the 10 I found myself looking for ways to improve it via the developer community over XDA. I loved everything about that phone until I broke the SIM card slot. I wasn't planning on upgrading to the 11 but I'm now very happy I did. This Verge article reflects my sentiments, except for the fact that I've always thought HTC was the leader in smartphone design. The 11 is their Phoenix phone.

I came from the Galaxy S6... and yes, the U11 is light-years ahead of that awful dumpster-fire of a phone. The GS6 would need to hit a charger at around 2pm every day. I had carry a portable battery just to keep it alive until I got home. Not to mention the increasingly bad lag and slowdown that happened over time.

Came from a 950XL, Battery life and speed of the phone is fantastic, Camera I am still trying to come to grips with and Android is still a struggle ATM for me.

There are some great articles about switching to Android on Android Central, when ever I get a new one phone i hit up YouTube for tips and tricks.

You will love this phone HTC really out done thyself with this one. I had the one m9 and skipped the 10 I'm so glad I did because this is a great phone.

My LG G4 died and I picked up a G6 for a week - hate the 2-1 ratio - tall and skinny is NOT for me.
Been waiting to come back to HTC and I'm very happy.

I came from the LG G4. before that I had a HTC one (m7?) and before that an Iphone 4s.

HTC U11 is the best so far in every way. (all other phones I enjoyed at the time)

I came from and HTC One M9. The one thing the M9 was better on was that I didn't need a case. I hate cases and I've never owned one for any of my previous phones. Now I have to have one, and even the clear case slightly changed the color of my solar red, taking away from the brilliance of the phone when naked.

I had a bad charge connector on my m8 and I got the m9 to replace that now I have the u11 and this is the best phone I've ever had. I use to carry a charger to work with my m9 but the u11 will last all day.

I come from the LG v20.

It was a definite difference in my experience doing this.

There are some things that I would prefer having on this phone, but I know that isn't very likely to happen.

The biggest difference is that this phone makes things easier for me,save but 1 thing and that's being able to swap out the battery.

I don't know what the longevity of the battery will be for the long haul but I can always pick up a external portable charger if I need to.

All of the connectivity features of this phone is outstanding being more reliable and faster than I thought possible and at the end of the day is what really matters to me the most however when you add up all of the little things this phone does extremely well makes me very happy and for the record that list is very long with it's awesome camera, outstanding audio qualities, impeccable build quality, minimal bloat, and even it's squeezable sides with edge sense..

It's a really amazing phone when you add it all up
