Ok guys I been rooted for about a month now running stock ROM and like the way if felt at first but now it seems to have more lags and lockups so I want a ROM that is basically build from the stock with sense, I like having the 7 screens but also would like to OC. Is honeybun the best ROM for me? Thanks

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Yep, honey bun is a fine choice for a sense rom. I still have a hb nandroid on my card, even though I'm running cm6, in case I feel like a bit of sense love.

In the hb thread, beezy has provided a link to get an overclockable kernal. You'll need to flash that to be able to oc. Then dl overclockwidget from the market to oc it. Give a shout if you have any more questions or problems
Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot froyo on hero action here!

Honey Bun is a great rom it was the first one I used after I rooted my phone but I would give NFX-Hero 2.2.1 rom a chance, very fast has the newer lock screen and bottom bar and has tons of free space left over after the install :D

How long does it ROM usually take to load and be able to use the phone again?

I would say between clearing wiping the phone and then installing the rom maybe 10-15 mins tops to have it booted back up and working but then you have to reinstall your apps and tweak any settings you have changed so that all depends on what you have at that point but once you get the hang of it you will fly thru it usually takes me like 30mins total start to finish to have everything done.

Ahh ok thats not too bad then.., and by reistalling apps i assume apps from when i do the nan backup? Or would i loose all my apps? thanks bdizzel

Doing a nandroid backup will allow you to restore back to your current state kinda like system restore in windows or time machine on a mac, when you flash the rom you will need to either restore your apps from a back up made with a program like Astro file manager or some other file manager software of your choice or just re-install them from the Android Market. If your going to install them from your market learn from my mistake make sure you go right to your downloads section the first time you launch the market and dont exit out or clear any notifications until you have reinstalled all apps, if you do leave it will clear out the history of the apps you haven't currently installed which means you have to go hunt them back down and possible pay for them again even though your not suppose to have to. I just simply install all apps once completed I then leave the market and go one with customizing everything and have never had a problem but the easiest way is to just back up the apps up to your sdk with Astro first and restore them that way but I like going thru the market so I know I have the latest version of everything.g

When installing a new rom I personally recommend copying the files of your sd card that you need to save like your nandroid backup and any other data that truly need like photos or videos you recorded etc and then formating the sd card via your computer once completed only copy over the update.zip file for the rom you want to flash then I would recommend doing the following in Clockwork Mod:

1) wipe data/factory reset
2) wipe cache partition
3) go to advance and then wipe dalvik cache

after you have completed those three steps I would install the new rom and once installed move the backup of your sd card files back onto the card this will ensure that there are no left over files from your previous rom that could cause any issues with the current rom but yet you can still revert back thanks to the nandroid backup.

Honeybun or IcedHoneybun for beginners or starters is really good. I used it for about a week before moving to Froyo CM6.

My main intention when rooting was to run 2.2 after moving from stock 2.1; obviously that depends on what your goal is with ROMs, each one of us is different. Oh, and removing the horrible lag when making phone calls on stock 2.1, wow that was slow!
