I want to like it. I want to use it. I feel like it's a big part of what the Note 8 has to offer. I just never feel like I need it. I hate talking TO my phone. I hate it when people around me talk to their phones also. It's not that much of an inconvenience to just use the screen to do what I need to do.

What should I be using Bixby for? What am I missing out on?

I'd like some specific examples of how it makes using your Note 8 better or easier for you.

I find that when I'm in the car and I can't really use the phone with my hands, that's when I would use bixby to make calls or send a txt. also to set reminders and put thing in calenders.

I like Bixby mainly for when I'm driving. I preset some commands. My common one is "Heading out". That turns on Bluetooth and Waze map. For some reason saying Waze Bixby never knows what I mean so I have quick command workarounds for that one (like heading out). Another if I just want to see waze, I programmed [don't laugh at this].. "Map yo". She immediately turns on Waze lol.

Bixby also starts Pandora for me in the car. With Bluetooth on she pairs to the car so Pandora starts playing through the car speakers and I can use the steering wheel buttons to navigate songs and volume.

Bixby can send messages to people for me when I'm driving, and the car reads aloud messages receive.

My phone automatically links to the bluetooth as soon as I get in the car but Bixby doesn't work through the cars bluetooth. How did you set that up?

I use Bixby for certain short commands.
home
work
light
dark
close all
calling
texting
calendar setting
reminders

some of those commands have 5 steps also. I like being able to say home.and all.my notifications get changed a certain way. same when I'm at work and sleeping

I just got my Note this past Sunday, so I'm still going through the "oh yeah, I need to download that too" phase, but I set up Bixby on Monday and played around with it at my desk asking it all kinds of random questions from movie trivia, to world times, and it seemed to work well. I mostly use it when I'm driving through where I would normally use Google Assistant. I'm having trouble with the summon word in my car, but it works at my desk. It's good for "call [person]" or "text [person] I'm running early, I'll be in the front" things, but that is all I use it for personally. I'm hoping with the 2.0 announcement on the 18th I'll be using it a lot more

I am a big fan of google now, have been using it since the Nexus 5 days and it does all my personal assitsant tasks (take me to xxx, how late is yyy open, call zzz, is it going to rain today aaa)

So I don't use bixby for any of that. However, I do find Bixby to be particularly good at finding and opening random settings menus that would otherwise take some effort and clicks to locate. (open screen timeout settings, or open developer options, open the setting for wifi scanning etc.)

I love Bixby. I have said on other threads that she is like a new puppy. She needs to be trained. I use her to turn my wi-fi on/off. To remind me of things.

I use Bixby for many things. I have quick commands for home, work, car, running, waking up, and going to bed. I love that I can change my profiles with just one press of a button. I use Bixby for general search. I use it to change settings, downloading apps, playing music/movies. When I'm in a text field, I can just press the Bixby button to dictate. It's just very useful and to add to all of that, l earn Samsung Pay points every time I use it.

I can see where Bixby might be useful in a car if you're the type that needs to have incoming texts read immediately. I have found no real use for it. All the 'home, work, car, gym, etc.' settings that people seem to love to use it for I have programmed in to do automatically with no need for input from me. In other words, when I arrive home my phone automatically turns on Wi-fi and sets a certain volume. Same at work. Same in the car. Same at the gym. Having to tell the phone to do it to me is a step backwards.

I can see your point, but I use varying profiles for the same location at times. Also, not everything is location based.

I tell Bixby to wake me up at a specific time and she wakes me up with different music, the forecast and quick news stories. It's pretty cool.

the only reason to use Bixby right now is to get the Bixby XP points that turn into Samsung Points which can then be used for gift cards... eventually. I am up to 4,000 points in my Samsung Pay app that by the end of the month I will get enough points to get a $50 Samsung gift card. it's free money so I just keep using it.

There's a few threads on here with lots of tips and commands. Also YouTube has a few good channels. Sakitech is a good one as well as The Daily Note.

Disabled the Bixby button. won't recognize my voice. Tried everything imaginable. Samsung customer service can't solve the problem either.
