What should i do when there is water in my sim card slot?

[Android Central Question]

I was in the middle of a video chat and i wanted to show my friend a clearer look at my fish and put my s8 in the water so he cloud see my fish clearer but some how water got in my sim card slot when some how water got in my slim card slot when it was in completely and the seal looked correct. My s8 phone screen went black after that and i could only hear notifications and call noises but could do nothing with screen. I put it upside down on a cloth with the sim card slot out so the water could come out for 12 hours. After that i put my s8 on a heating pad to evaporate the water inside my s8 for 1.5 days. What should i do?

If you have insurance may e go through that ?
If not you might look into getting it fixed or new phone.
