What Should I Upgrade To?

I have the Note 10+ 5G and just kind of want to upgrade. I don't think I can do without a Note; I've been using them for so long at this point that I don't think a "regular" phone will cut it.

My girlfriend's Note 9 died today and she picked up the Note 20 Ultra. Seems great, but it's been out for a bit and if I get a new phone I want a new phone. Is there a definitive status on a Note coming out this year? I haven't checked in a couple of months, and I kept seeing conflicting info then.

What's out there now, or just around the corner, that I'll be happy with? A folder?

The next Note from what I'm hearing will be next year not this year , you try the galaxy fold 2 it 3 ?

I was exactly where you are a couple of months ago when I found out that there would be no new Note this year. In fact, the speculation at that time was the Note line was being discontinued. Samsung has since confirmed that they will be releasing the Note 22 next year.
I upgraded from the Note 10+ to the Note 20U because I did not want to wait until 2022 for a new device. I am happy I made the move because the N20U is certainly an upgrade. My Note 10+ worked great but the N20U is just a lot more crisp in almost every area. It's also updated like a current device so it gets all the latest bells and whistles. At the time I got a $700 trading in value for my 10+ so that justified the purchase. Looking at Shop Samsung I see the price of a new N20U is still up there so don't consider upgrading unless you get a good deal. If you are a true Note fan you would know, only a Note can replace a Note.

I feel your " pain". I didn't buy the crappy Exynos Note 20 Ultra last year. Since there's no info as to when the Galaxy Note will come out next year (assuming the worldwide chip shortage is then over) I might just have to import the Snapdragon Note 20 Ultra later this year. I want to use a bonafide Galaxy Note as long as possible

Same situation for me as well. For me, the hope is on the new Fold 3, if it comes with pen support and, of course, a pen included in the package. This, or I will have to wait another year, even with my Note 10+ battery starting to show some degradation signs…

Hows the battery life? I just read a article saying no Note this year but most likely in 2022. If this is true im prbly gonna do the same as you. Nothing replaces a Note.

My battery life isn't what it once was, but the degradation isn't terrible. Noticeable, but still gets me through a day no problem. Gonna swing by Verizon and Best Buy tomorrow and talk through some options.

Check the Samsung site. I'm on the verge of hitting the purchase key for a Note 20 Ultra. $500 trade in for Note 10+.

Update: I ended up upgrading to a Note 20U (it's getting shipped).

Verizon is doing a thing where if you upgrade your plan you get an $800 credit toward a new phone, so it made the new one pretty cheap. Plus I have tethering included now, which I do need for work occasionally (I was on an old capped data plan with a few gigs total per month). Plus some credit for Disney+ and Hulu, which I already use, so it saves some money there.

I figure if there's a new Note next year I can figure out how to upgrade at that time. I just couldn't bring myself to buy an S21+. I feel like I'm dependent on the Note line.

Bill will go up some, but not a ton. I'm not super psyched about the deal, but I'm not mad, either.

I was going to go with that deal but I hate that Verizon spreads the $800 credit over 2 years and I would need to move to their Select Unlimited plan which is $10/month more. Still a good deal though depending on your scenario.
