what size micro card is recommended for a average user

What will you be using the Tab for? How big is the internal storage?

If you like to shoot video, get a big card - 128GB and up.

If you want to carry a lot of music (that is, 10's of thousands of songs), get a big card - 128GB and up.

Otherwise, you can probably get by easily with 32GB or 64GB.

I'm using a class 10 32 GB card right now mostly because I had it laying around from a previous phone upgrade. If I was buying I'd go at least 64GBs.

really just depends what you're using it for. I ended up buying a 128GB for me so that i can upload my music on that instead of my note 5. The tablet is light enough to carry around in my purse/bag and connect it to my lg infinims. i got my 2 daughters (9 & 4) 64gb for the Tab S2 and Tab A 7.0.. because they get trigger happy with the camera app. HEHE

What brand SD card did you buy? I have a Samsung 128 gb and nothing will download to it. I threw in an old Kingston 16 gb and it is downloading no problem.

How was the card formatted? I believe you should format it as "exFAT." That is what my 64GB Sandisk is formatted as.

P.S. It should work right out of the package.

Mine gets bogged down and sluggish trying to use latest Samsung PRO Select 128GB card. Also when used in S7. Format came as exFAT. Also tried an EVO and Sandisk card.

The camera wants to use it but I don't not for now.

I use a 64, had the tablet since January and actually haven't needed to store anything on it. I mostly use the tablet to browse, a few games, and watching Netflix etc. when not at home. Like the other posters it will depend on what you need but 64c is plenty unless you are shooting a lot if video

I tried two different 128 gb cards and I could not download Google movies to the card. So, I am going to try a 64 gb card because that is what I used in my Tab 4 and I was able to download the movies. Kind of bummed because I will not be able to get all my movies on the 64 gb card.

I had a 32GB in mine with tons of videos, music, pictures, etc. , and I was at about 50% . I wanted to speed things up a bit so I just finished installing a SanDisk Extreme Plus microSDXC UHS-I Card that ' states ' it can kick out speeds up to 95 MB/s ., and it obviously left me with a lot more available space as well . but well see . It did transfer large files and folders from internal space to the card and vice versa at a very noticeable rate.
