Let me just start by saying I am a really happy EVO owner. I haven't had any problems with it, other than getting used to a virtual keyboard (something I don't think I'll ever get completely used to.) So...
Verizon is set to release an HTC slider known as the "Merge" some time in November. It has a slide out keyboard, and is world capable. I am a happy EVO owner, and I even had an Epic before I got it, but I really do still prefer a physical keyboard, and want it on the hardware that HTC develops.
It also needs to be world capable. The reason I switched to Sprint last year, besides for better pricing, was because they offered a great international data roaming plan and a device, the Blackberry Tour, that could utilize the feature.
Unfortunately, when Sprint decided to pull that plan (probably because they were losing tons of money on it) one might think that they might not be so apt to adopt CDMA/GSM phones considering people will be a lot less apt to pay international roaming charges without the $40 plan. It remains to be seen.
So that's what I want. An HTC Phone with a 3.7-4.0 inch capacitive touch screen, a slide out keyboard (with a sturdy, locking slider mechanism) that is also a world phone (and if they can fit it, throw a WIMAX radio in there.) Anyone else interested?
