I?m trying to decide if I should leave blackberry and join the droid family.

What will I like about the Droid X? compared to the current blackberry?s out there right now and the future one coming to the VZW network.

I?ve played with the X on about 6 times at Verizon stores and every time I?ve wanted it more but what is holding me back is the size.

How is face book on the droid x?

How is twitter on the droid x?

Yahoo email?

Corporate email?

If you need a Blackberry for work (aka, your company has a BES server) get a blackberry.

If not, get a Droid.

I'd like to say that the issue is more complicated than that, but it's not. Blackberry OS is so lacking in what people consider "basic" smartphone features anymore that unless your company REQUIRES one, it's really not worth getting. Don't get me wrong, they're solid phones, but excepting corporate sync/security, Android does EVERYTHING else better.

Facebook is "meh" on android atm. at least the stock app. I heard some people really like Bloo, but I'm not a huge facebook guy, so I'll leave that to them.

There are over 1/2 a dozen twitter clients for android. I use the Official one atm, and it's great for my needs, but all of them have specific strengths.

Yahoo email is supported no problem. Yahoo even makes an android app that brings push email to your device.

Corporate email can be tricky. It all depends on what security your company has configured for their email. Most of the time it will work fine with the stock app (you might need to talk to your tech department to get the IMAP settings). For most of the times it doesn't a paid app called Touchdown can bridge the gap (at least until the device gets froyo). The best thing here is to talk to your companies tech department and see if your email will work on android.
