What version of Odin?

I find it surprising that the Odin download page doesn't list my phone. What version works with the Verison model SCH-i535?
What other drivers are needed? I have the Samsung USB drivers, but that xda page is very confusing.

I have the same model of phone and using Windows 7. I am using Odin 3.7 without any issues at all, as far as the USB drivers go I first downloaded them directly from the Samsung website and when I initially plugged my phone into the computer, Windows searched and installed drivers also which confused me since I already had drivers installed, but I went with it and have had no problems. You probably already know this but remember to turn USB Debugging on.

Do you need to put the phone in download mode when first connecting it via USB?
I have the Samsung drivers installed, but haven't connected it yet.

I do put the phone in download mode before I hook it up to the computer.
