What wallpaper size does one need to use?????

This tablet is beginning to drive me nuts. The included wallpapers are too busy and I want something more simple to provide more contrast for my mothers eyes yet nothing I download seems to work for both portrait and landscape. I tried 2560x1600 and some higher resolutions and that also work fine for landscape but cutoff the top and bottom for portrait, WTF!? Can anyone please tell me what the wallpaper size needs to be? Thanks.

I just downloaded a larger res wallpaper and scaled it, thanks. Now I can't seem to figure out why Google Play is not listing what apps have updates available. It only shows what's installed and recent;y updated even though if I look at individual app pages it shows there's an update. What gives with this thing? I have zero problems with my S3 and Nexus 7.

EDIT about the second point - I rebooted the device and some Samsung Apps update installed and now the Play Store is showing what updates are available.

No, I always turn that off since I don't want notifications in the bar for app updates - but that doesn't affect seeing app updates available when going into the play store and going to My Apps. But as mentioned, the reboot seemed to resolve that issue. When I go in now it shows the apps with updates listed first with "Update" next to them.

Download an app called great wallpapers, best one I found for high res and wallpaper works in landscape and portrait
