Super excited about Android N, and am sitting here pondering what the 'N' will stand for. Nutella? Noodles? Nerds? Nanaimo Bar? Soooooo many options.

What do you think? What will the 'N' in Android N stand for?

What would you name Android N?

If I were Google (well, it's ABC, Inc now) I think I'd have a little fun with this one!

What do you hope it ends up being?

Here's my short list. Part of me is pulling for 'Nougat'. Ridiculous.

Napoleons
Neapolitan ice cream
Nectarine
Nerds
New York Cheesecake
Nilla Wafers
Nougat
Nutella
Nutter Butter

Most likely Nougat.

I don't think Nutella because we had Doughnut before.

It think it will probably be Nougat because that's sensible. 😡
BUT there are different pronunciations. I say Nuggat. (If you ever here me say Noogah, I hope that you will kill me.)

Edit. It's no good, the word Nougat is perfectly ghastly. It will have to be Nutella.

What's wrong with you people!!!!

:)

It obviously needs to be Nerds. We only get one shot at this folks. Hard candies, particularly those in clever little boxes, have been underrepresented in Android names since our great operating system's inception. I say we put an end to this repression and usher in a new day where smart, unstylish people can enjoy tiny delicious sour fruity candies in N preview nirvana!

God bless the AOSP!!!

The final product may be called something else altogether. They probably just picked "N" for now since it's after M in the alphabet.

Well yeah, we're talking about what the word might be that starts with N.
