what would happen if i download the wrong firmware for my phone?

My Samsung galaxy s5 SM-G900AV model has no lolipop 5.0 update whatsoever. Would iy hurt my phone to use SM-G900A firmware and update my phone and if not why?

Never download firmware that is not for your exact model

Try connecting your phone to the Samsung PC Suite, Kies, as there appears to be a new update for Lollipop on the G900AZ carrier branded, minority variant for Cricket. See, here.
