So currently I have 2 Google Homes in the house, and 3 WeMo switches plugged into the wall outlets to control living room and bedroom lights. I have been thinking of doing more house automation but still thinking on what.
But I was wondering, Are the Samsung Smartthings better for hooking things up being as it has a hub to bring it all together? I can't see the Samsung stuff working any better with my lights than the WeMos I currently have, but I was thinking when I go to add more things if it would be better just to use the Samsung stuff.
Also one thing that does annoy me though. When I tell Google to shut off the bedroom lights for example, and it always states back, "You got it, turning the bedroom lights off", or some variation of that. I hate that! I don't need vocal confirmation. When the lights turn off, that is all I need to know it worked. I know that is is working, I don't need the vocal read back. That would be a good suggestion for Google to just cut that out.
Also on a side note, I hope google eventually lets you change the trigger word to activate the home. I like how Amazon finally programmed Alexa to be able to change that. I really want to change my trigger to "Computer" like on Star Trek.
