What's going on? June 9th Sprint/Motorola event? I want my Evo3d!

Uhm...ok, I am confused. Wasn't the Evo3d supposed to be this summers flagship phone? Here we are sitting, twiddeling thumbs, waiting to finally get a release date for this phone, and Sprint has an event showing us what's basically the Droid X2 for Sprint?

What's that mean for the Evo3d? Will it get released before that? After it? This is way different from what happened last year, that's for sure.

Anything I speculated on and expected is flying out the window!

Interesting, im speculating that they relase the 3D before the 9th. I dont think they would want to hype two hard hitting devices... especially since Sprint isnt known as much of a motorola seller.

I too hope this means a release sooner than later. and I already have my hopes up.

That sounds pretty cool, still wouldn't consider it unless Motorola has applied their new bootloader policy to it though.

I really don't like Motoblur. I just looked at a unboxing video of the Droid X2, and the only thing I liked about it is the transparent window shade when you pull it down from the notification area.

It scored 2200 on Quadrant using the same qHD resolution.

Sticking with the Evo 3d, unless they really revamp the UI on this phone....the Photon 4G.

Just because they have an event doesn't mean they will release a phone anytime soon. This is probably something related to a fall release or something. Shouldn't effect us.

I am guessing that they will announce the Moto Photon on June 9th but it wont be released until sometime in July or August.

Still I think this event will take away from the Evo 3D. you will have all the boards and tech sites talking about the Photon and the E3D will not be getting that much press.

If anyone's thinking this would be a good alternative to the Evo 3D because of the recent bootloader controversy just remember that Motorola's new bootloader policy isn't coming into effect until late this year and will probably never effect the phones they release before the new policy comes into effect.

I've seen it rumored a few places that the Photon could essentially be the Sprint version of the Bionic.

Definitely going to take a look at it though if HTC doesn't come off their high horse, since Moto has pledged to start opening up their handsets (at some point, will have to wait til close to launch to see if this is it).

Yep. I watched some videos of the Droid X2....that thing is an epic fail if you ask me. Lost the camera button, changed nothing else on the hardware, no forward facing camera, no 4G...all for the lovely price of 199! Hate the UI as well. The Atrix doesn't look much better, and if all we'd get is a bigger Atrix with a kickstand, I respectfully decline.
