Android Central Question

Hi my S8+ just recieved the new update for android pie. And i seem to be having a problem with my camera. Before the update i had the mode DUAL CAMERA and it works just fine on my phone but after the update that mode disappeared but is still considered installed in my phone and the videos i took with that mode are no longer "Dual videos" but simply videos showing what i filmed with the back camera during those videos. Can someone please tell me how to recover them or tell me whats happening because Id really like to know. Thats all thank you!

I want to know the same thing!!!!!!!
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t have an S8(+)...instead I have an S7 Edge, but this might be useful:

Assuming that your dual videos have disappeared on the Samsung Gallery app, you might want to check the Google Photos app (pre-installed, should be under ‘Google’) as a Samsung UI update isn’t likely to touch it.

Good thing about Google photos is that everything is automatically saved onto it and backed up onto the cloud (as long as you have wifi/data) the moment you take/download a photo/video so hopefully the original dual videos will be there. Just make sure to sign into the right account if it asks you (usually when you first open the app)

Hope that helps!

This simultaneous front and rear camera feature was excellent on Android Oreo, I don't know why Samsung cannot replicate it on Android Pie.

Other phone manufacturers such as Huawai and Xiaomo have this dual camera/video feature on Android Pie. It is even more disappointing from Samsung when you consider one of the featured advances of Android Pie was its increased multi-camera capabilities.

Samsung please work to return the simultaneous front and rear camera feature on your phones or supply a reason of why you have turned it off in Android Pie?

The Samsung flip phone launches this month and i can think of lots of great uses for simultaneous front and rear camera uses on a phone with so many cameras.

Come on Samsung, pull your finger out!

Damn. This update is the worst.

The disappear of the dual cam video recording already happen 2 updates before.
I contacted Samsung about that issue and they answer me back, that this is an improvement of the camera.
That dual cam video recording was the best feature. I was able to record my YouTube videos while the viewer can see me too. Damn bad Samsung, because of that feature I bought the phone. Sure, my next phone will not be Samsung anymore...
And sure, I will advice anyone not to buy Samsung.

If a particular feature was the reason you bought the phone and now that feature is broken (or has been removed, it's the same here because the camera features are integral to the device, it's not like some social media thing has gone bust somewhere) then - in the UK, anyway - you may be entitled to redress because the product you bought is now defective and no longer matches your needs: the contract has been broken so it's up to the retailer to "make good" to your satisfaction. One option might be to give you a different newer phone where those features do work properly, another might be a refund.

First time I’ve seen someone decide that dual cam video is the be all and end all of whether their phone is good or not.

Nokia phones (by HMD) run on stock Android and are solid mid-range phones. They also have dual-cam video/photos so you could check them out.
