Whats is the best Jelly bean rom for the galaxy note 2 GT-N7100?

as the question says what is the best (best performing, free of lags) jelly bean rom out there, right now for the galaxy note 2 GT-N7100.

also would you be able to point me to a good tutorial which teaches you how to root and install a rom as this will be my first attempt. thanks

It really depends on what you're looking for in a ROM. Do you want to keep all the stock Touchwiz functionality and S-Pen support? Do you want to completely wipe out Touchwiz and go with stock Android? Do you need tethering? Do you want the PIE interface developed by Paranoid Android? Do you want to be able to use your Note 2 in phablet or tablet mode?

I personally use AOKP on my Note 2 and I absolutely love the stock Android interface. I tried Paranoid Android but I had no need for the phablet/tablet modes and I didn't really care for the PIE interface. Also, I didn't want Touchwiz at all so I never bothered with any of the Touchwiz based ROMs. It's hard to say which ROM is "best" as everyone's needs are different. I would suggest doing a lot of reading and watching Youtube videos about the different ROMs available, what features they offer, and their interfaces. Then go ahead and install the few you've select, play around with them for a bit and then decide which one to go with. Always be sure to make a nandroid backup before flashing a new ROM.

Id like a jelly bean stock theme android which has great performance and supports all default capabilities that come with note2 (spen etc), do you know any?

i am on V 3.5 .. very stable. very fast.. very good battery the most important.
you can keep the stock touchwiz if you like. and much more
really i dont like to change it any more.
i am satisfied with it.

Now itll be cleanrom 4.9 ace. Keeps the look of stock touchwiz and VERY stable. Alot of roms are carrier specific. Cleanrom ace supports multiple note 2 versions and carriers. Check out the xda forums for specifics.

CleanROM 4.9 is great, plus there is a great AOSP theme on XDA, made for CleanROM, it makes Touchwiz ROM look just like a Nexus. Best combination out there, still keep all TW features, very stable, excellent battery life, and with the theme, gives you a stock Android look.
