I've looked at both the V20 and Pixel because of all the Hype and I'm less than 2 months from my upgrade. Reading their forums... I've decided to take a closer look at this (HTC 10) sleeper.
Does anyone know what or when the newest HTC is due?

Usually on a yearly release cycle so around April next year I'd guesstimate. I saw a concept pic of the new HTC and it was leaning toward a full screen. none to very little bezel. Can't recall where I saw that and no proof it be true anyway. The HTC 10 is a sleeper device and totally under rated by the masses. So many Sammy fans out there and then the iPhone fans really seem to leave few left for anything else.
I picked up a 10 for less $$$ on Swappa about 3 months ago and find it to be a really well built, solid performer. Really glad I decided to go for it. Had one Sammy, an S6 which worked well but just don't think I'm interested in getting another. Just don't like the Samsung koolaid. I'll be watching the release of the HTC 10's replacement next spring. If my current 10 is doing fine still I may just keep it. I need to slow down on phone purchases, Lol.
I looked at the pixel also and seems a really sweet device, but the 10 does what I need and think I'll stick to budget and give pixel a pass. Pixel 2 might get my attention tho. I think there is room for some improvement as usual. Dual or at least better external sound for one. You can't go wrong with a 10 IMO, but that's just my opinion and I'm a fanboy of no particular device or brand.

I think the HTC 10 is so good and solid, I'm excited to see what the HTC 11. I may have to upgrade early, for once.

I've always owned Motorola phones.
From the basic X all the way to my current Turbo. I've had good luck with them, but thought I'd look "outside" since the V20 and Pixel(s) just came out. I watched the video reviews and read many articles but sounded like a coin flip. I then went to their specific forums to see what the new owners actually had to say. I didn't like what I read... so... I started looking at the HTC 10. Now I'm torn between the HTC 10 and the Moto Z Force.

The Z Force is very nice. However, as a Turbo owner you have to understand that Lenovorola isn't going to upgrade their Droid line at all. My Turbo 1 was promised Marshmallow by Moto, and even though it's less than two years old, they reneged without explanation or apology to their customers. I chose to buy a 10 to get MM, which includes features that I badly wanted. Other than missing Moto Actions and my Turbo's better battery life, I have no regrets, and I'm loving pretty much everything else about this phone.

This, the droid phones really get left hanging. I haven't NOT owned a droid phone yet and the track record for their updates is laughable. With the Droid Eris, Droid Incredible, and Droid Razr Maxx, I at least had the excuse that there was not the same phone on VZW getting updates that I wasn't. When I took advantage of Amazon's glitch years ago and got the Droid Maxx, I thought updates wouldn't be a problem since (other than the battery) it is the EXACT SAME has the Moto X from that year. While the Moto X got KitKat, then Lollipop, the Maxx got KitKat and one or so security patches. Motorola/Lenovo are not going to expend extra effort to update a small niche version of one of their several models.

Read an article the other day. HTC should be releasing the HTC bolt/ HTC evo 10. It's one of those names. There are releasing along side the next HTC desire. That should be happening in this month if not next month. Also it's reported the bolt/evo will have 7.0 out of the box.

As far as the 10 goes it's an absolutely amazing phone. I just returned the v20 to keep my 10. In my experience the 10 out performed the v20 on every level. This may be due to the fact that I am running a custom power profile with it being rooted and the viper ROM. I am also running kustom live wallpaper and not a single shutter.
