I'm changing phone operator and I have a new SIM for the new provider which I was told only to install (replace) once the phone stops working in a couple of days. Meanwhile I want to see if I have saved anything on the current SIM - I suspect not. But how do I check?

Phone's a Redmi Note 13 w/ Android 14

A sim card can not be read by an SD card reader. I personally wouldn't worry because the space on a sim card is very small. Its main purpose is to identify your device to your carrier and about the only thing you could store on it would be some contacts. If you have those saved to your Google account, them you'll be fine.

I should have been more specific. I referred to my 5 in 1 reader as an SD card reader. Apologies to the op for any confusion.
I have a different one than the one attached/pictured.
But you all get the point, I'm certain.
