Hi. I'm new to the X (just got the X2, actually) and was wondering what the difference is between adding a Facebook account through the phone's "add account" feature versus using the Facebook app? Do you only do one or the other? Both?

Thanks for any info.

The one on phone is for Blur and will add contacts to your address book, as well as allow you to use the built in social networking application. It will show status updates per user who are in contacts. Basicall it integrates Facebook into your contacts with some integration to updates.

I would recommend that you add the Facebook account to your accounts, so it can sync your contacts' updated FB pictures to your phone. And then you have to agree to the terms to use the Facebook app. I have done both and Facebook works great on my phone. I just need to click on the app and eveything automatically loads. Hope this helped.

Thanks for your responses.

So if I add my FB account though Blur, does it add all my FB contacts to my phone's contacts, or only my FB contacts for which there is a name match in my phone's contact list?

I just came over from an htc Incredible and that phone would notify you of a possible match and ask you if you wanted to link the phone contact to the FB contact of the same name (or similar information). I also think that phone just did the linking of contacts through the FB app itself.
