Whats this icon (diamond with cross in it)? Can't find it in the manual...

That's your E911 GPS indicator... just showing that the E911 is active (which is normal).

oh ok - and just noticed I can't turn it off. Is there any way to hide the icon?

The user manual says no... so probably not without root/custom ROM or something.

There's probably some sort of new legal requirement to have it showing. Who knows?

That icon seems to be tied to google location services. When location services are on, there are lines on it like the wifi signal sideways. And then when location services are off, the signals go away.

That icon means that NFC communication is turned on.
