What's up with "ok Google"

Anyone notice that with marshmallow, if you say "ok Google" from a blank screen that the screen will not actually come on?

Check to make sure from the Google app the checkbox for "always allow google to detect your voice" is ticked. if this dosent work please reply.

I saw nowhere in the Google app where you could tick the above option. Can you be more specific about how to get there? This is not an option in 6.0.

Try this :
Goto settings
Goto Google
Goto search and now
Goto voice
Click on Ok Google detection
Make sure the first 2 options are checked.
